my world just got a little smaller
considering the target audience, i've been surprised that i haven't seen more friends, classmates, or colleagues on the dodgeball courts over the course of my (albeit short) ref'ing career. once i ran in to some friends from petco when i subbed for another ref, and then i mysteriously had a friend of a friend show up to sub in a team a few weeks ago.
that all changed yesterday. cue the former colleagues, travis' good friends kim and kevin, a local morning radio show, and a high school friend... they all ended up on my court last night. sort of crazy. i've broadened my reach when i called that radio station this morning... only after one of the hosts made the comment "... and the ref was kind of being a baby". oh no she dih'nt. so i called them up. i think they were surprised, to say the least. though i may have gotten in a little bit of trouble when i outted my boss when i said i hadn't been paid in a while... the check went in to the mail today. any publicity is good publicity, right?
